Some of my videos are mostly thought pieces. Things I've observed and that I think about a lot. These are typically thoughts that have surrounded breakthroughs in my own mindset that have resulted in significant progression both in my skills on the bike and for my growing love of the sport. It's for this reason that I want to share these topics and thoughts, and I hope that they help some of yo...

Freeride isn’t dead! Rocky Mountain Slayer Review
Переглядів 30 тис.Рік тому
#mtb #mtblife Come along for a run down on my experience reviewing the Rocky Mountain Slayer, the long standing Freeride machine, with chameleon like adjustability that allows use of 27.5" or 29" wheels and a range of travel options from 170 to 200mm of travel. A departure from your typical "enduro" range of travel, the Slayer checks off tons of boxes when it comes to what gets me really stoked...

How PRO riders use their brakes to go FASTER!
Переглядів 206 тис.Рік тому
#mtb #mtbskills My friends, today I'm going to share something with you that could just be your big lightbulb moment. The concept of hard braking vs. comfort braking/brake dragging was probably one of my biggest personal "AH HA!" moments, and it's one that many people have told me has stuck with them in a huge way when coaching. With a little practice, you can find a whole new level of flow mag...

Someone actually still enjoys washing their clothes by hands. & there's nothing wrong with it.
Just say you like carbon wheels but don't lie to yourself or try to make anyone believe a $2,000 wheelset is saving money lol.
I dont know but my friends xt sucks
As I’m reading comments here,I’m wondering. Is there so big difference between classic axs and axs transmission? I’ve never tried classic axs but I already had an XO and GX transmission and both were absolutely amazing. No rattling noise or any other problem. Everything was without any problems. On the other way with my cable gx and xo1 I had I needed every month to do some repairs with cable tension and the most of the time the derailleur wasn’t running smoothly. It was skipping gears and etc. It can be just bad experience but I can’t tell.
I’ve had a lot of time on XX and GX transmission as well, and they are extremely different. XX has been the most quiet of all of the sram drivetrains I’ve ran to date. Shifting is very different, and the pod controller is quite different as well. It’s not without its pitfalls, but I definitely rank transmission as a big leap forward for Sram.
My uncle Devon Manno says he does mtb with you, I just started to get into it and he showed me your channel.
That’s awesome! Your uncle is a very good friend of mine.
@@SemiSendy what videos are the ones that my uncle is in?
Reminds me of the first time I took my buddy to Snowshoe and we rode a "blue", specifically M. He wasn't ready having only rode Bburg and Carvins. He was like, "Wait, that was a blue?" 😂
Great video highlighting Carvins! It is a little jewel for sure. Gaunlet is my fav trail there hands down with Royalty next. Gaunlet roots get gnarlier every year which is so good! The down/upside is Bburg development has grown like crazy, so it's real hard to want to travel up there haha! But I'll be getting back soon once the wrist is a little better off and able to handle the gnar. Shred on!
I have a problem. I have a rock shox super deluxe select and I want to decrease my sag because it’s at about 40% which is way to much. However when I try to increase my airpressure it won’t work for some reason
5:20 just take out the batteries when youre not riding. Its not too much of a hastle, you put gear on as well
Nonsense. The blue trails try and kill you. ask the scar on my leg. lol.
SRAM has been my go to for years, CX, XC and now on my Ebike. Shimano gave me so many tech issues. Wireless all day long
When equalizing pressure between positive and negative air chamber, I believe that Rock Shox recommends doing this without the shock pump connected
I cannot find any information on how to dial in 19 fix 40 factory dh. Nothing about how to set the compression dials
SRAM does need to figure out letting users to completely power down when transporting bikes. I am beginning to aee adventages of wireless shifting (rented few wireless gravel bikes) and didn't agree with noise or feel, but battery drain is a big flaw. Wish they just added a switch to power down. Removing battery is a bit of risk of losing them. I am not sure about Di2 tho.
any given day of a cyclist 3.0: charge e-bike, charge smartphone, charge GPS, charge heart rate monitor chest strap, charge telescopic seat post, charge power meter, charge wheel pressure caps, charge lights, charge collision warning radar, disconnect WiFi smartphone in case the Ebike decides to update itself in marches, charge smart helmet for accident warning...
Seriously the best shifting drive train I ever used. GX AXS TRANSMISSION is amazing
Great vid, thanks!
i upgraded from deore 3x9 to deore 1x12 with raceface chainring and 11-51 sunrace casette , looking at the parts its obvious it was for budget reasons and then i still have ppl asking me why didnt i just go with gx wireless , the gx wireless deraileur alone costs about as much as my entire drivetrain setup wich is absolutely wild (sram component pricing in south africa is insane)
you get the wrong bike for your needs. and this is the 670 sad it was 669
Poser kook fam.
I am surprised how few people have captured the issues he’s mentioning. 1. The cassette ratios feel way too wide for steep climbing. 2. Battery will die on a long road trip. Take it out for the drive. 3. Awful CLUNK when changing gears. 4. Chain slap. I have been pondering going to Shimano on my Supercaliber.
The Transition Smuggler is a blast, and probably better suited to your riding style and area
It is obious for me that cables have better feel, a total control and nice feeling, freedom without being chained to batteries, charging, water and weather... (Yes, come weather drain very quickly any battery). I never had desire to change from Shimano Ultegra to any electric powered groupset. With perfectly crafted TIME framset, it looks much better. I've never missed gear, or dropped chain ; ) What's the point? Progress? Better feel? Being trendy?
I use the SRAM Force AXS D2 all wireless setup with only brake lines. But my setup is a Cervelo P Series Triathlon rig so very different bike, but on a Tri setup i’ll never go back to cables.
My youngest son (27) is on a week-long work trip to WV. They were supposed to go fishing today on their day off, but instead I got a photo of his boss and him all geared up ready to ride Snowshoe! With all of us being from CO, I wanted to get an idea what the park was like and found this video. I agree with others - you did an outstanding job putting this video together. These trails look legit! Janky, chunky, and with fun features sprinkled in. Now I'm totally jealous!
I feel like the internet is now overcrowded with click bait headlines.
It's funny to watch how all these authors are afraid to say a bad word, because the copyright holders will come to them and make them apologize on their knees :D
I would be intrested if they could be wired up to the main ebike battery vs. having to keep up with charging seperate batteries. But then I suppose you would need cables to do that kind of defeating the purpose although those cables would be thinner and more flexable.
My experience is it goes flat just sitting around. Ie if you charge your bike and leave it sit without touching it will still need charging
Can i still Mullet it even though i would not change the cascade link?
I was sick of the battery going all the time. I went back to cable xx1.
XT for life!
I had to pause it after “fun-o-meter” and giggle for a sec.
I'm having a hell of a time getting fresh cable housing through my Ibis Ripmo! Any tips? I'm considering going AXS just to avoid these tight bends
This was "shoking" to me. Thank you!!
Ok. What do you think about the new Charger 3 Zeb which is very progressive? Is 25% sag with 180mm travel too much?
Just bought a norco and their ride aligned says 18 out LSC. Does that mean out from close or out from open? Also great video! Just subscribed!
That should mean out from closed if they are following conventional norms. I’d start there as a launching point and then start bracketing to see what feels best to you.
My favorite mountain bike saying is: “it’s not the bike, it’s the rider.” In my experience no matter how well you set up your bike it won’t change the way you ride. My friends bike is a 6000$ bike and even so, me on my 3000$ bike, I’ve been riding for less time than he has but practice much more, which pays off because I am a much better rider than he is.
Not with sram system but can happen i guess... something people dont talk about i had the archer components electronic shifter and after one season the motor burned in the trails and the chain went by itself to smallest cog stuck like that...cie said no warranty so i put back xtr shifter with the xtr derailleur shifts super good i feel safer cause easyer to fix in trails and i like the feel...
I'm only 90min from Knoxville, can't wait to try these trails!
Sorry but AXS derailer is the best upgrade I’ve made since carbon wheels. I’ll never go back to cables.
This is the worst place to ride. Dont ocme here youwill have it . Stay in Virginia or NC.
Investment? More like DISPLACEMENT CAUSE I NO LONGER GOT ANY MONEY XD
Set it to your weight, like you do car, van, truck tires, then you can start to tweak it
Even though this video is a year old now I would like to say as a mountain bike coach I am endlessly frustrated by my athletes and their dead shifter batteries. Many training sessions have to be altered because of this. Before each ride we always check the ABC's Now we have to check the AB "B" C's. And if you show up with dead batteries you go home...
Having to check 8 batteries on a monthly basis is tiresome. 1. Speed sensor battery, 2. cadence sensor battery, 3. Etap rear derailleur battery, 4. Etap front derailleur battery, 5. left shifter battery, 6. right shifter battery, 7. Power meter battery, 8. Head unit battery Meanwhile on my mechanical bike I just pump up the tyres, oil the chain and if I feel like training I take my head unit.
if anyone is wondering song is Ooyy - Calling Me
Me: 30 yo with a 2012 V10 on 26” wheels with basic oil and spring suspension watching this🦧😂
